Video Game Development Level 2

In this workshop, students focus on the tools and processes game designers use to create compelling video game levels, interesting scenarios, and enjoyable playing experiences. Students discover how to create dynamic sequences and events and bring their levels to life. By the end of this workshop, students will have a greater understanding of the work of professional game designers, as well as the ability to create their own game designs!

Students will learn:
  • Digital art tools and level editors to make original game content
  • Mathematical concepts like 2D and 3D coordinate systems
  • Basic level scripting to create dynamic sequences and events

Prerequisites

This course is open to students entering Grades 8 through 12.

Students must have completed Video Game Development Level 1 to enroll in this workshop.

Schedule and Tuition

Schedule for 2016

Workshop hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Students should arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of class. There are free optional after-workshop activities most days from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.*

*Due to the July 4th holiday, Session 2 hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  After-workshop activities will be from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
