Junior Art and Animation Level 1

Digital production artists are responsible for producing the amazing visual experiences in today’s video games and animations. Success in this field requires artistic passion combined with a solid grasp of both traditional and digital art skills. This workshop lets you explore the world of production art and animation through a variety of animation projects using non-digital and digital media.

Students will learn:
  • Fundamental traditional fine arts skills
  • The art and animation production pipeline
  • Basic 3D computer animation, modeling, and texturing
  • Storytelling, dialogue, and writing techniques for animation

Prerequisites

This course is open to students in Grades 4 through 7.

Schedule for 2016

Junior Workshop hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m – 3:30 p.m. Students should arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of class. There are free optional after-workshop activities most days from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.*

*Due to the July 4th holiday, Session 2 hours will be 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  After-workshop activities will be from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
