In this course, students will pursue and explore the science of physics. Through weekly lectures, engaging labs, class activities, and facilitated discussions, students will be guided through 10 different modules. Topics covered will include what physics is, force, energy and work, potential and kinetic energy, motion, energy of atoms and molecules, electrical energy, electric charges, light and sound, and conservation of energy. Weekly informal and formal labs will help engage and guide students through the scientific process. Students will think about what might happen, test their theories, share what the discovered, and write out their conclusions. This course will provide an excellent foundation for upper level science studies.
All materials and books will be included with the course materials fee ($75), which has been added to the cost of tuition and is included in the deposit.
This course is open to students in Grades 4 through 7. There are no academic prerequisites for this course.
Refer to the Homeschool Programs page for the 2016 - 2017 school year schedule.
