In this course, students will explore the science of chemistry. Students will work through 10 modules, covering concepts such as the periodic table of elements, mixtures, chemical reactions, molecules, atoms, polymers, and biological polymers. Students will be guided through the scientific process using both formal and informal lab reports. By engaging in lively discussions, students will learn to think about what might happen, test a theory, write out results, and provide a conclusion as to what they observed. This course will provide an excellent foundation for upper level science studies.
All materials and books will be included in the additional course materials fee ($75), which is due upon registration, along with the $195 deposit.
This course is open to students in Grades 4 through 7. There are no academic prerequisites for this course.
