In this course, students will delve deeper into the science of chemistry. Using the scientific process to guide them through 10 different modules and hands on lab experiments, students will study topics including matter, mass, moles, chemical bonding, neutralization reactions, mixtures, and biological polymers. Through guided class discussions and labs, students will be encouraged to develop their own hypothesis, test their theory, and then write and share their conclusions with their classmates. Students will learn how to write both a formal and informal lab report. This course will provide a great foundation for upper level science studies.
This course is open to students in Grades 8 through 10. There are no academic prerequisites for this course.
