Exploring the Writing Road to Reading

By learning the 70 phonographs of our language, students will embark on a journey of discovery that will enhance their ability to read and spell! With fun activities, games, and songs, we will learn to apply rules that will allow your child to win the battle of decoding and spelling any word they encounter. We will focus on handwriting, phonics, and spelling while we watch their reading ability soar in the process. Students will also learn the beginnings of sentence structure and comprehension techniques, all in hands-on, engaging ways. This class is great for students in grades K-3, who are just beginning to learn sounds, as well as those who have begun the reading process; it is a great multi-sensory approach to language arts.

This a year-long course that spans two semesters. It is encouraged that students register for semester A and B.

This course is open to students in Grades K through 3. There are no academic prerequisites for this course.
