Summer Workshop Overview for the Young Explorer

Thank you for signing up for a summer workshop!

There's a lot of planning that goes into our summer programs, and in order for everything to run as smoothly as possible, we need your help. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the information below, and contact us if you have any questions.

If you have a Junior or Teen, their summer workshop information can be found here

We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Drop-off/Pick-up Information

Students cannot be dropped off more than 30 minutes before the start of any session. Students must be picked up within 10 minutes after the end of a session or within 10 minutes of the end of the After-Workshop Activities time slot (see below).

Failure to adhere to this schedule raises safety concerns for students, as there is only supervision during designated workshop and after-workshop hours. An early drop-off or late pick-up will result in a $1.00 fee for every minute you are early for drop off or late for pick-up. If a student is not picked up by 8:00 p.m., DigiPen will contact the local authorities for the next steps.

Young Explorers must be signed out by an authorized adult.
An authorized adult is one either listed on the Pick-up Authorization form or an adult who can give the password listed there.  ProjectFUN staff will ask to see ID before releasing a student to an adult not using the password.

TRAFFIC FLOWS

If we all work together, we can avoid complicated traffic jams and long lines. Here is our suggested traffic flow for "getting out of the parking lot fast(er)".

There will also be signs and staff members directing traffic, so please be patient, courteous, and follow the flow. Thanks!

Siblings in Different Workshops

If a student has one or more siblings attending a Summer Workshop that begins at an earlier time, both students may be dropped off at the earlier time. Conversely, if one student's After-Workshop Activities end at a later time than the others, both students may be picked up at the later time.

For example, a Teen Workshop student has a sibling in a Young Explorers Workshop. A parent may drop off both students at 8:30 a.m. (when Young Explorers Workshops begin) and pick up both students by 5:30 p.m. (when Teen After-Workshop Activities end).

For siblings of Young Explorers, DigiPen will be providing a shuttle from Overlake Christian Church during drop off.  Students riding the shuttle must complete a shuttle waiver on the first day.  The shuttle will depart OCC promptly at 8:15 am.

DigiPen's ProjectFUN offers workshops, camps and college prep courses for kids and teens. Technology courses are held in Redmond, WA (near Seattle and Bellevue), and online.
